# Byun Yo-han’s Tazza 4 Widens the Table With Vietnam and Japan

*Sportschosun reports that Tazza: The Song of Beelzebub has added Hong Dao, Tsuyoshi Ihara and Stephanie Lee around Byun Yo-han’s revenge match. Soompi also reports Ayaka Miyoshi will make her Korean film debut in the Chuseok release.*

By Dorothy Kwan, 2026-08-26 · Away From Set

Sportschosun reported on Aug. 26, 2026, that Tazza: The Song of Beelzebub, the fourth and final film in the gambling-crime series, has added major players from Vietnam, Japan and Korea around Byun Yo-han. The movie, directed by Choi Kook-hee and produced by Sidus, opens during the Chuseok holiday period on Sept. 23. A film reader should care because this is no tiny sequel shuffling old cards for comfort. The pitch now sells a bigger table: Byun, Roh Jae-won, Kitazawa Mayu, Hong Dao, Tsuyoshi Ihara, Stephanie Lee and, as Soompi reported earlier, Ayaka Miyoshi in her Korean film debut.

## Byun Yo-han’s Casino War Gets an International Table

Sportschosun says the new film follows Jang Tae-young, played by Byun Yo-han, a man who believes he has won the room through an online casino business. Then his best friend, Park Tae-young, played by Roh Jae-won, takes everything from him. The two men meet again in a gambling arena that now reaches beyond Korea, and the movie turns that reunion into a revenge match.

There you have the engine: same name, same hunger, one friendship curdled into a money trap. It sounds blunt, which may be the right shape for Tazza. This series does not need lace curtains. It needs the snap of a card on felt and somebody smiling too calmly after a bad deal.

Sportschosun frames the film as the final installment in a series that has run across roughly 20 years of Chuseok-season releases. The outlet also says the new chapter aims to work for viewers who have not seen the first three films by setting the game in a 2026 international gambling circuit. That is the sales pitch, and it has a little committee perfume on it: bigger world, new entry point, final chapter, global scale. Fine. The actual news underneath the perfume is better. The cast now gives the table more than one accent, one power system, one kind of menace.

## Hong Dao and Tsuyoshi Ihara Bring Business Teeth

Sportschosun reports that Vietnamese actor Hong Dao plays Chairman Tao, a business magnate who treats each choice as part of a game. Hong Dao told Sportschosun that the offer to join a Korean film made her happy and honored. She also said she had not handled cards before the role, so she learned the rules, chip handling and card work from the start, practicing enough that her family grew used to the noise at home.

That detail has life in it. Not the honorific fog. The noise. Chips and cards clicking in a house until the family stops hearing it. That is a real work detail, small enough to trust.

Sportschosun also reports that Japanese actor Tsuyoshi Ihara plays Chairman Sasaki, the head of a Japanese company. The character has a yakuza past, keeps quiet at the table and wagers more heavily than the room expects. Ihara told the outlet he watched the three earlier Tazza films after receiving the offer and found them entertaining enough to join. He also told Sportschosun that, after recently receiving requests for more virtuous roles, he sent director Choi Kook-hee a photo with his hair slicked back.

That is funny because it says more than a paragraph of prestige talk. You want a respectable man? Here, look at the hair. The villain may begin at the scalp.

## Ayaka Miyoshi’s Kaneko Is the Cleaner Bet

Soompi reported on Aug. 17, 2026, that Ayaka Miyoshi will make her Korean film debut as Kaneko, a managing director at a Japanese company with yakuza ties. In Soompi’s account, Kaneko wants to invest in the online casino business built by Jang Tae-young and Park Tae-young, then helps set up a large gambling game involving powerful people from Japan and Vietnam.

This is where the publicity talk starts trying on silk gloves. Kaneko keeps an elegant public face, Soompi reports, while hiding a sharp mind and cool judgment. The old move: beauty on top, calculation underneath. It can go dead fast if the movie treats her like a perfume ad with a ledger. It can also pop if Miyoshi gets to play the arithmetic, not just the pose.

Soompi reports that Choi noticed Miyoshi after seeing her in Alice in Borderland Season 2 and cast her as Kaneko after responding to her presence and energy in that series. The outlet also says Miyoshi learned poker for the role and helped Roh Jae-won with Japanese dialogue, working on delivery, speech habits and sentence endings.

That last part matters. It moves her from imported gloss to a working participant in the machinery of the film. The Korean film debut angle may sell the click, but the language work tells you she had her hands in the gears.

## Stephanie Lee Sells the Backroom Game

Sportschosun reports that Stephanie Lee plays Linda Park, a lobbyist who proposes a game with a major figure to Jang Tae-young in Vietnam and helps close backroom deals. The outlet positions Linda Park as part of the series’ familiar voltage: allure, tension, influence, danger in a good dress.

You can almost hear the brochure copy trying to behave. “Alluring presence” is the kind of phrase that arrives wearing too much cologne. But a lobbyist character in a Tazza film makes sense. Gambling movies love the table because the rules look clean. The better ones know the real game starts before anyone sits down. Who got invited? Who paid for the room? Who knows which man needs to win and which man needs to lose beautifully?

The piece does not say how much screen time Stephanie Lee has, and it does not say whether Linda Park drives the plot beyond the Vietnam deal setup. That is the limit of the reporting. Still, the part as described gives the film another channel of pressure away from the cards, which is where these movies can breathe.

## Tazza 4 Is Selling Scale, Not Just Nostalgia

Sportschosun says Tazza: The Song of Beelzebub takes its roots from Huh Young-man’s comic Tazza: The High Rollers. Choi Kook-hee directs after Split, The Day of National Bankruptcy and Life Is Beautiful. The cast named by Sportschosun includes Byun Yo-han, Roh Jae-won and Kitazawa Mayu, with Hong Dao, Tsuyoshi Ihara and Stephanie Lee joining the newly reported lineup. Soompi adds Miyoshi as Kaneko.

The whole package now pushes one idea hard: final chapter, wider board. That can mean a real jolt, or it can mean a sequel got nervous and started buying maps. The reporting supports the expansion. It does not support saying the film pulls it off. Nobody needs fake certainty dressed as taste.

What we can say: Tazza 4 has built its new hand around Byun Yo-han’s ruined casino king, Roh Jae-won’s same-named betrayer, a Vietnamese chairwoman who learned chips from zero, a Japanese company boss with slicked-back menace, a Japanese executive who designs the big game, and a lobbyist working the Vietnam room before the cards hit the table. That is a lot of bodies around one bet. On Sept. 23, Chuseok audiences get to see who came to gamble and who came to decorate the table.
