## About

Painter and critic whose 'White Elephant Art vs. Termite Art' (1962) gave criticism its most useful pair of categories: the prestige picture straining to be important, and the termite work that 'goes always forward eating its own boundaries.' Farber wrote about B-movies, character actors and the corners of the frame with a painter's eye, and Negative Space is the crankiest essential book in the field.
