The film was shot between October and December 1928 at UFA, and premiered on 11 March 1929 at the Ufa-Palast near Berlin Zoo. The film follows Else's attempts to seduce Albert, a traffic policeman, after he catches her trying to steal a precious stone. The film was initially banned for young audiences.
