Starring John Hurt, Richard Burton, Suzanna Hamilton and Cyril Cusack, it follows the life of Winston Smith (Hurt), a low-ranking civil servant in a war-torn London in Oceania, a totalitarian superstate ruled by Ingsoc and its leader Big Brother.
