Synopsis
Born in Flames is a 1983 American utopian/dystopian docufiction drama film directed, produced and co-written by radical intersectional feminist Lizzie Borden. The film explores racism, classism, sexism and heterosexism in an alternate socialist democratic United States. The title comes from the Red Krayola song "Born in Flames" released in 1980, which was inspired by a 1929 Soviet silent film of the same name. The song appears in the film and was written by frontman Mayo Thompson with the conceptual art group Art & Language.
