One Million Yen Girl

One Million Yen Girl is a 2008 Japanese drama film written and directed by Yuki Tanada. The film is a variation of seishun-eiga and a family drama that tells the story from a woman's perspective. Suzuko Sato, the troubled 21-year-old female protagonist sets out on a journey to escape her troubles and live on her own terms by moving each time she saves up one million Yen, but ultimately finds that grass is always greener on the other side.
