Synopsis
Shame is a 2011 British psychological drama film produced by Film4 and See-Saw Films, directed by Steve McQueen, and co-written by McQueen and Abi Morgan. It stars Michael Fassbender as a sex addicted New Yorker named Brendan, whose life starts to unravel when his younger sister shows up in his life. The film's explicit scenes reflecting the protagonist's sexual addiction resulted in a rating of NC-17 in the United States.
