A Soviet comic actor who, by the account that follows him everywhere, wrote to Stalin about wanting to act and was reportedly given a place at the State Institute of Cinematography. He became the third of Leonid Gaidai's trio — Byvaly, the Experienced one, tight-lipped and aggressive — beside Yuri Nikulin and Georgy Vitsin.
