Liam and Noel Gallagher Turn Venice Premiere Into an Oasis Singalong
The brothers arrived together, locked arms and stayed for an eight-minute ovation at the world premiere of “Oasis: Don’t Look Back in Anger.” For a film about a reunion once thought unlikely, their shared red carpet told its own small story.

Liam and Noel Gallagher walked the Venice Film Festival red carpet together on Saturday, September 5, for the world premiere of Oasis: Don’t Look Back in Anger. They arrived by water taxi, posed with their arms around each other and later raised their joined hands inside the Sala Grande. The change was plain enough to see: two brothers whose fights helped end Oasis in 2009 were sharing the ceremonial fuss around a film about the band’s 2025 reunion. For moviegoers, that matters because the documentary does more than preserve a large concert tour. It records the cautious business of putting two people, and a band, back in the same room.
Liam and Noel Gallagher Arrive Side by Side
The Manchester Evening News reported that the brothers waved and gave thumbs-up signs from their water taxi before attending a photo call with the filmmakers. For the evening premiere, both wore black jackets, held hands and signed autographs for people who had waited to see them.
There is something funny about the Gallaghers going black tie. These are men who made parkas look like formalwear. Yet the photographs had their own force because neither brother was being asked to act alone. The pose required proximity: a hand held, an arm across a shoulder, two faces turned toward the same bank of cameras.
They also skipped the film’s press conference, according to The Hollywood Reporter. So the red carpet offered an image of peace without turning that peace into a public interrogation. It showed where the brothers are now, while leaving some of the road there to the documentary.

The Sala Grande Becomes an Oasis Crowd
Inside the Sala Grande, the usual festival decorum loosened its collar. The Hollywood Reporter reported chants of “Oasis! Oasis!” as Liam and Noel entered. A spectator called out to Liam, who replied, “Venice is a lovely place!” before taking his seat.
