Pamela Anderson Is Done With the Beach, and These 5 Roles Show What Else She Can Do
Deadline reports Anderson has no plans to return for Fox’s Baywatch reboot. Her best case for moving on is already sitting in her film and TV work.

Deadline reported in July that Pamela Anderson has “no plans” to return as C.J. Parker for Fox’s new Baywatch reboot. She told the outlet no one from the new series had contacted her, though producers had spoken with her sons about producing and, in her words, they did not have “a meeting of the minds.”
She was warm about Baywatch, which is right. Anderson played C.J. from 1992 to 1997, then returned for a cameo in the 2017 movie. Deadline also reported that she said the show gave her worldwide exposure and taught her a lot. But she told the outlet she wants to make bold choices now, after The Last Showgirl put a different kind of attention on her acting.
UPI marked her 59th birthday with five roles outside Baywatch. Taken together, they make a better argument than any reboot pitch could. Anderson has already spent plenty of time on the sand. The more interesting work is elsewhere.
The Last Showgirl Gave Her a Real Center
UPI reported that Anderson won several awards and earned a Golden Globe nomination for The Last Showgirl, Gia Coppola’s 2024 drama about Shelly, a Las Vegas performer whose long-running stage show is closing after 30 years.
That is a clean, painful hook for Anderson: a performer asked to face what happens when the image that fed her also starts to box her in. The casting has a charge before the movie even begins, but the role is not just a mirror trick. According to UPI, Kiernan Shipka, Brenda Song, Billie Lourd, Dave Bautista and Jamie Lee Curtis co-star, which means Anderson is not being treated as a stunt presence dropped into a small indie. She is the center.
Deadline reported that Anderson linked this new phase to Coppola’s persistence, her Broadway run in Chicago, and the Netflix documentary Pamela, a Love Story, which was produced by her son. She called it a “second chance.” The phrase can sound tidy on paper. On screen, in The Last Showgirl, it has weight.

The Naked Gun Lets Her Be Funny on Purpose
UPI reported that Anderson appears in the 2025 action comedy The Naked Gun as Beth, the sister of a dead software engineer, opposite Liam Neeson as Frank Drebin Jr. The film is a sequel to the Naked Gun TV and film series associated with Leslie Nielsen’s Frank Drebin.
