Ben Affleck’s Nephew Indiana Steals Attention at Venice Premiere
A 22-year-old Affleck-Phoenix heir joined Casey Affleck and Ben Affleck on the red carpet for Company, bringing a family casting story and a startling resemblance into the same frame.
Ben Affleck turned up at the Venice Film Festival on September 8 to support his brother Casey Affleck’s new film, Company, and the camera found a newer Affleck almost immediately. Indiana Affleck, Casey’s 22-year-old son, stood beside his father and uncle in his first red-carpet appearance with Casey. He also towered over both men. For film readers, the useful wrinkle is that Indiana is not arriving as a random famous child: he has a role in Company, alongside his younger brother Atticus, 18, and early notices have already started treating him like the next family actor to watch.
Indiana Affleck Makes the Family Photo Impossible to Ignore
Ben wore the familiar black suit and white shirt. Casey went darker still, with a black shirt, tie, suit and patent shoes. Indiana appeared in a black double-breasted suit edged with white lace at the cuffs, lapels and hem, plus matching lace stripes down the trousers. White tennis shoes, a white shirt and a black criss-cross tie finished the outfit. His chin-length, middle-parted hair supplied the ’90s heartthrob business.
The effect was less “proud uncle at work” than three versions of the same genetic argument. Yahoo’s coverage called attention to the resemblance, while AOL’s report noted that Indiana was taller than both Casey and Ben. The young man’s clothes gave the picture a jolt: the older Afflecks looked like they had dressed for Venice; Indiana looked like he had dressed for the photograph that Venice would remember.
Casey and Indiana had appeared together earlier that day at a Company photocall at the Palazzo del Casino. The evening screening brought the larger family tableau, with Ben posing beside his nephew because Atticus did not attend the carpet. Yahoo reported that Atticus’s part in the film is relatively brief. That is the sort of small logistical fact that keeps a family event from floating away into publicity fog.

Company Turns Convenience Casting Into a Career Question
Casey directed Company, and both sons appear in it. During a Venice press conference, he explained that he had used Indiana and Atticus for repeated script read-throughs at home while the production struggled to find actors for the younger roles. They worked, so the family arrangement moved from living room to set.
